Letter to Editor and all Darke County Citizens:

The Darke T.E.A. Patriots Executive Committee (Bruce Mikesell, Robert Foster, Dorothy Williams, Thomas Subler, Denis Subler, Jerry Gasquez and Gary Young) met with T.E.A. Patriots organizer Al Bliss and active members Chris Zuccaro and John Riegle (Active Members) at 10 a.m. April 26 to determine a course of action relative to various published letters, articles and comments that focus on the Darke T.E.A. Patriots meeting held on April 20, 2010. This Executive Committee meeting was chaired by Bruce Mikesell. Mikesell gave Al Bliss an opportunity to open the meeting with background information pertinent to the April 20 meeting.

The following specific items were identified and discussed by the Executive Committee regarding the Darke T.E.A. Patriots procedure for deciding what candidate would receive the endorsement of the members of their group and be presented as the Groups’ candidate of choice.

Based on information from multiple reliable sources that an ACORN-like attempt to influence the voting outcome was being conducted, steps were taken to ensure that ONLY Active Members would be permitted to vote. This was done because the endorsement was to be presented as that representative of the group members and not as that of the general public.
The balloting process employed redundant steps to ensure only qualified voters’ ballots would be counted.
Two trusted individuals (a non-member woman who supported Seth Morgan and a member man who had previously voiced his support of Seth Morgan) were asked to conduct the ballot tally and perform an in process audit to verify accuracy. Additionally, the President of the group had withdrawn himself from the voting because he had previously declared himself to be a supporter of Morgan.
No T.E.A. Patriot member has requested a recount – yet there have been non-members of the group making unfounded allegations. The actual ballots will be available to any interested person, or group of people, who would like to perform a supervised recount.
A DRAFT Agenda (prepared by Al Bliss) for the April 20 Meeting had been distributed to T.E.A. Patriot members via email. No comments or suggestions on this draft were received. The draft used the phrase “citizens.,” This was changed to “Active Members” on the FINAL agenda due to the above ACORN-type action being brought to the attention of the group’s leadership. The DRAFT also indicated that the results of the April 8 committee meeting would be announced after the presentations by candidates was complete and before the vote. This was later deleted from the FINAL agenda, mainly due to time constraints.
A question was asked regarding DeWine, Husted and Yost being on this ballot. The Darke County Board of Elections list contained these names and were included based on a decision at the previous meeting.
There are no secrets within the Darke T.E.A. Patriots - the consensus of the groups’ membership is that if you do not participate, you do not have the right to complain about the outcomes of, or actions taken by or in the name of the group.
It is the club’s opinion that the recent complaints are the result of some people being sore losers and unhappy that their ACORN-type tactics were not successful in achieving the endorsement of their preferred candidate(s) from the T.E.A. Patriots group.
The Darke T.E.A. Patriots Executive Committee considers the language used by Al Bliss to be unacceptable. Bliss has apologized to the Executive Committee and other club members. He has also assured the group that he extends his apology to any members of the public who may have been offended.

The Darke T.E.A. Patriots Executive Committee also is of the opinion that If the effort to have the groups’ endorsement go to Seth Morgan (and possibly other candidates) had succeeded, all parties would have deemed the voting process a legitimate success.
It is the groups’ opinion that as a result of the effort to “stuff the ballot box” and thus shift the voting process from a Darke T.E.A. Patriots members’ only vote to a public vote having not been successful, it seems to have resulted in those connected with that effort being very vocal with their public criticisms of the T.E.A. Patriots group – specifically its leadership.

It is the group’s opinion that Seth Morgan’s Darke County campaign chair Candice Gibney has issued loud and long complaints because her candidate did not receive the endorsement of the group. The evening of the event, these verbal complaints were directly observed and witnessed with no comment or attempt to end them by Seth Morgan. Statements about corruption and bias have continued in the press and electronic media.

Would these representatives of the Seth Morgan campaign welcome a detailed inspection with close objective evaluation for unethical conduct in relation to efforts to “rig” the vote?

The T.E.A. Patriots is a membership group and, as such believes the allegations leveled at them, their leadership and their endorsement process have been unfounded and inappropriate.

The Darke T.E.A. Patriots also unanimously consider that this letter constitutes the final expenditure of vital energy on this incident.

I was listening to the WMD podcast from Sat. night and heard something very interesting from a commentator. It was something along these lines, when the topic of Sandy O'Brien came up while Seth was a call-in guest.

Well, I hope you help carry her across the finish line as well(laughs)

Seth's response was silence on the issue.

Seth Morgan,the'Tea Party candidate', makes an endorsement- and then does not even defend his position when he is in a setting that is probably not very appreciative of such an endorsement.

Silence.

Funny how the guys at WMD who refer to Jon Husted as a "retred" on their site and are actively campaigned against him, have NEVER asked Seth about this. They say on their site that Jon Husted is supported by the GOP insiders, what does that make Seth Morgan if that is the case.

I agree with Seth Morgan that Jon Husted is the best candidate in that race, I just wish that Seth had enough will to stand up and tell everyone why.

I have talked to friends in the State Legislature about who Seth Morgan really is.

While some endorsed him, a few were not so kind.

One Legislator had a few choice words, while anonymous, I think it is telling:

Morgan is a good man, but we have two types of people in the House. Some are work horses, and others are show horses. Seth is a show horse. His suing of the Governor for the documents and information this year, nothing but a show.

Seth thinks he was put on this earth to be President of the United States. He thinks he is chosen, it is very odd.

You can choose to believe me or not, that is up to you. The opinions of these two men are not changing, and they are voting for Dave Yost.

The more I learn about Seth Morgan, the less I like about him. The more I look into his record, the more I see that it is shallow, at best.

Dave Yost is the best candidate in the race, and his record, not his rhetoric, back that up.

Matt Hurley says this:

Now, you might ask, were 62% of Morgans donations under $100? Consider this, Yost only outraised Morgan by a mere $500 but Morgan had a 4-to-1 ration of donors.

Morgan raised his money from FAR more donors than Yost did meaning the contribution levels were smaller.

But here is the real story that will keep Dave's handlers at the ORP up at night: if somebody is willing to donate to a candidate, they are likely to vote for them too...4-to-1...now that won't hold as we get to real results, but it sure has to be giving somebody indigestion and it ain't in the Morgan camp.

If that was the case, Ron Paul would have been the Republican nominee for President.

I was waiting on this since I posted about how Seth Morgan thanks God for President Obama and his dirty money.

“Seth was obviously being tongue in cheek, you can even tell in that video. Anyone who thinks he supported the stimulus plan as federal policy, or Obama’s policies, or Strickland’s Education plan is not familiar with Seth or his record.”

I think that team Morgan threw out all credibility, and ability to ask others to look at any record when they attacked Dave Yost with quotes like this:

We congratulate Dave on getting Ohio's liberal mainstream media behind him. The liberal media like Dave because they view him and David Pepper as two peas in a pod," said Rob Scott, Communications Director for Friends of Seth Morgan.

Justin Higgins seems to think it is fine to label Dave Yost with sharing the same pea-pod that the President inhabits, but when I use a quote, he gets all pissy. I put all sarcasm aside, if there was any, and just took the mans words as what I heard. Thank God for Obama stimulus money.

He must have no issue with gay-baiting by Rob Scott, the Morgan campaign spokesmen..

Or Rob attacking local elected officials.

Or Seth lying about being sick to avoid an event.

While Justin calls for the stopping of the smears from me, a person who is unrelated to any campaign, he ignores the smears from the actual Morgan Camp. He calls me desperate, and that is okay, at least I am not robo-dialing my home town.

So Justin, look into any of those negatives that come from an actual campaign, you have plenty to choose from.

If Dave Yost is like Obama for any reason, Seth has some major similaritys. He is a young man, who has not truly been tested, never been in an elected executive position, he had a major loss before going for the gold, and has no true record.

Who knows what we could be getting? I'm not saying he would be horrible, but I am not taking that risk. He is however better than David Pepper, and that is why I called for unity on May 5th.

I wonder how Seth Morgan, being the upstanding Christian man that he is, feels about the casinos that are coming....thanks for those Justin.

This site was developed as a political blog that tells the truth, and thinks in reality about Ohio Politics.

The reason that I have so many posts that are directed at the Seth Morgan is because he is pushing falsehoods about a good Republican, and his supporters are not looking at this race from a real perspective.

I have also allowed personal attacks on my character to get me directed in a certain direction. Even though I did not intend this blog to be aimed entirely at Seth Morgan, i think I have raised some good questions about the person trying to be a statewide elected official.

If Seth Morgan wins this race on Tuesday, I will support him, but some may not. I think the number of Yost supporters who will support Morgan is far more than the other way around.

I am asking both campaigns to agree to a unity statement, that will acknowledge that while there are differences, we need a conservative in this office. We do not need David Pepper, spoiled liberal who has nothing going for him other than his fathers money.

I am asking both Seth Morgan and Dave Yost to agree to a unity statement calling for each supporters to get behind the winner, and keep the seat Republican. Something we should all agree to.

Seth Morgan Fail... Rob Scott Mega-Fail

Well here is the story. No politics, no lies and no false analogies. This is the simple fact.

With quotes like this, you would think that Seth Morgan would have never wanted anything to do with the so called "liberal media".

Huber Heights, Ohio - Dave Yost over the past two weeks has been exuberant over being unanimously endorsed the most liberal newspapers in Ohio for Auditor of State. Yost has received the endorsements from the Youngstown Vindicator, Akron Beacon Journal, Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Dayton Daily News.

And this...

These same newspapers endorsed Ted Strickland for Ohio governor, Marc Dann for Ohio attorney general, Barack Obama for U.S. President, and have claimed the conservative and Tea Party movements are made up of racists. "We congratulate Dave on getting Ohio's liberal mainstream media behind him. The liberal media like Dave because they view him and David Pepper as two peas in a pod," said Rob Scott, Communications Director for Friends of Seth Morgan.

Here are a few of Seth Morgan's dirty little secrets:

1) He appeared alone, by his choice, in front of the editorial boards of both the Youngstown Vindicator & the Akron Beacon Journal.
2) He appeared jointly, with Dave Yost, in debate type fashion, in front of the editorial boards of both the Dayton Daily News & the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

One of the joint appearances lasted as long as an hour and a half.

For someone who thinks these media endorsements are so liberal that the winner could be compared to Obama, Seth Morgan surly cared about these endorsements. The reason the endorsements are "liberal" is because Seth Morgan FAILED to gain them.

He must have thought it was a liberal endorsement he was working for as he sat in front of an editorial board for over an hour.

If Seth was endorsed by a single one, just one, I am sure his view would be a little different. Why would he even show up if that was not the case?

The fact is, he is desperate. Comparing Dave Yost (who has actually defended the Constitution in a court of law) to Obama, Strickland and Marc Dann is shameful.

Here is the kicker.

It is only as shameful as Rob Scott, Morgan campaign spokesfool, bashing a newspaper he once worked for .

(This was unconfirmed until this evening, when I received it on good word that he did indeed work for the DDN in 2004, in some capacity)

That's right. Rob Scott once worked for the Dayton Daily News. That liberal media, oh how terrible. He had no issue working for one of the papers. How funny.

Well here is some more fail from Rob that I can validate:
Rob called me a "Kool-aide drinker", and anyone who supports Dave Yost a Kool-aide drinker. I quickly asked if he was also calling Ken Blackwell his former boss and "friend" a Kool-aider for endorsing Dave Yost. He did not have much to say to that.

Like I said, Seth Morgan #Fail, Rob Scott #MegaFail.

A few days ago I had mentioned the fact that Seth Morgan had his wife lie to the organizers of a Tea-Party event in Avon Lake about him being sick.

Well,here is an update from a Tea Party Patriot who has some strong words for Seth Morgan

Here is the ailing Seth Morgan in Butler County Friday night. Obviously Mr. Morgan made a rapid recovery from the onset of his illness late last Thursday which caused his wife to call and cancel his appearance in Avon Lake. By the way, that event attracted more than 100 conservatives. And while Tom Ganley was scheduled, he was suffering from the real bug but was well represented by his son, Bob Ganley. Bob not only agreed to fill-in for dad, he stayed for the entire event and this effort did not go un-noticed. Dave Yost was also invited to the Avon Lake event but declined honestly in favor of the Butler County Lincoln Dinner. He is a Patriot. So, here is Seth Morgan last Friday at the same dinner, apparently chipper and fully recovered. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, or a lot of votes in a big Ohio Primary.

Why the games? Why the trickery. Attacking Dave Yost, making crazy notions that Yost is similar to Obama, and so many strange quotes from Rob Scott. All things that could provide short term gains now, but will hurt in November.

I cast my ballot for Dave Yost, the only candidate in this race with the maturity and experience to first win in November and proceed to run the Auditors office in an efficient and effective manner.

As more than one colleague of Seth's in the Ohio House has said to me, Sethis a show horse, not a work horse. I want a work horse.

I was reading a post over at WMD, and I had to literally laugh. Seth Morgan is now comparing Dave Yost to President Obama. Why you may ask? Because Dave Yost has beat him out for a few newspaper endorsements.

I guess that question can fall in line behind my question if Seth Morgan agrees with his spokesmen on attacking County Auditors or his spokesmens gay baiting.

Got this tweet the other day, and wondered what was up...

"RBelton62 Heard Seth Morgan lied to a group in NE Ohio, saying he had a "virus" so he could go to a Butler County Dinner the other night... IMMATURE"

So here is the scoop, Seth was supposed to be in Avon Lake(event planned months ago) but last minute, his wife called him in sick, saying her husband was suffering from a bug.

That's fine.

Except, Seth was seen in Butler County the same night he was to sick to travel to Avon Lake.

So my unnamed sources say that Seth was at the event in Butler, working the room like he was suffering from nothing but ambition.

I hear he was shaking hands...I hope they had some hand sanitizer ready.

Rob Scott of team Morgan resorts to "gay-baiting"

“Gay-baiting” is a way to attack a person by accusing them of being homosexual as a way to make a joke at their expense.

Seems a little third-grade, but Seth Morgan’s campaign spokesmen Rob Scott sinks to another low.

While investigating on who it was exactly that insulted the position of County Auditor, I asked around about Rob Scott. He seems to think that by asking one or two people who he even was I am "osessed" with him (I had honestly never really heard of him). He goes on to say this..

“I have heard from a number of people that you have become obsessed with me. Just so we are clear ... I'm not interested and don't swing that way.”

That seems a little over the top. I guess when you can only sink to Ad hominem attacks, gay baiting is as good as tactic as the others.

Still wondering how Seth feels about his spokesmen’s attacks on ALL county Auditors, and we can just add this to the topic of discussion.

The Rust Belt gets all red in the face...

Well, it looks like old Henry Hill has an enemy. Nate Nelson from the blog 'From the Rest Belt' got all upset by my post about Dave getting the endorsement from the Darke County T.E.A Party Patriots.

First, Nate accuse me of scrubbing my blog. Well, being friends with Nate he told me of my "error" so I corrected it to appease him.

Next, he accuses me of not being ready for prime-time. This isn't the Drudge Report, Nate. This is little blogspot and wordpress blogging that in the end, no one really cares about. I suppose my newness to blogging can be countered by his newness to the Conservative movement. Where was Nate Nelson this time last year when some of us were on the campaign trail battling Obama?

He then begins to quote eyewitness accounts, of course no names. Well I will counter his eyewitness reports with unnamed eyewitness reports that say the opposite of what his say.

According to my sources, Seth's county-chair was acting so childish that people began to get up and leave. He also calls the leader the "Führer" (nice use of nazi slurs), when in reality Al Bliss was elected by the group.

I mean, who Nate's sources anyway? Well....

He then gets all red in the face about Dave's campaign not returning his call. Honestly, I am not sure I would call him back after some of the craziness from his blog. Like now he accuses the ORP of setting this Tea-Party organization up and using it as a so called "ORP Tea-Party", that and we never went to the moon and George Bush caused 9/11.

He then goes on and on about the grassroots supporting Seth. Welp, the real grassroots made over 20,00 phone calls this weekend for the winning-Republican slate.

I can hear it now, the sound that will ring from the Seth Morgan Campaign on election night.

Does Seth Morgan degrade County Auditors like his spokesmen does?

In a recent e-mail chat with Morgan spokesmen Rob Scott, I found this quote a little on the offensive side.

(Dave Yost has) a bunch of county auditors(who)support him. Big deal. So he has some people that know how to hand out dog licenses and check weights and measures.

While those are a couple jobs of the County Auditor, I do not think it is right to be dismissive of their endorsements and their profession simply because part of their job includes things that are viewed by Rob as second-rate.

These people are hard working individuals and their investment to the well working of our county governments across the state is seen in every county.

Hope he does not count on this block of endorsements come General election, if he makes it that far.

Well maybe Rob can push this excuse for his boss getting steam rolled in the 2006 Montgomery County Auditor race, "Well, ya see, Seth uh realized that the County Auditor office is useless and all they they uh do is uh hand out dog licenses and go check some scales, he did not really want to do that."

Hey Rob,maybe you can read the ORC where it talks about the job of Auditor and be a bit more understanding of all the hard work a County Auditor does. (http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/5713.01)

I mean they are only executives of often large offices, not as if Seth would know anything about running an office of any size.

I am glad Dave has sought the County Auditors support, I think their endorsement is a "big deal"!

Apparently Dave Yost won the endorsement of the Darke County Tea-Patriots club last evening.

The endorsement was not the fun of the evening, however.

Dave was not at the meeting however his opposition was out in full force. Seth and his family were present. Along with Seth was his Darke County Chair. From what I hear, after the vote Seth's chair lost it. Yelling about voter fraud and yelling insults at the counter, she really showed her fringe side.

Seth was in the room, he nor his staff made any attempt to end the situation or calm the woman down. Any normal person who has there name on the line would probably do something, or maybe leave the room. Seth morgan just watched.

I think in a lot of ways, this woman showed a lot about Seth and his campaign. Yell because you don't get what you want, and never blame yourself, blame and insult the ones that are in places of power. This time it was not the ORP and Kevin Dewine, it was the tea-party volunteer counting the votes.

We are still learning more, and I will bring you more info about the incident as I learn more.

Combatting the excuses: Seth Morgan's 2006 County Auditor Race

Every time the issue of Seth's 2006 60-40 decimation comes up, his people give excuse after excuse. Generally it is about how Montgomery County is a lib county where Republicans can't win, or maybe how 2006 was a bad year. These excuse, when examined hold about as much water as Seth's record.

I find it funny that in 2006, a year that was so bad for "EVERYONE" and in a county where republicans simply "cannot" win, Betty Montgomery, Mary Taylor, John Boehner, Arlene Setzer and John White were somehow were able to win the county. Not only did Seth Morgan lose in his own county, he performed the worst out of any republican running with a majority of the county votes. He was out performed by Ken Blackwell.

I am not saying that he had to win, but not only did he not win, he got his butt handed to him.

The people who know him, where he is from,a county wide campaign, he got around 40% of the vote.

Now that his excuse of a liberal county in a bad year is now proven incorrect, maybe we can address the real question here? will be hearing Seth Morgan excuses if he is the winner of this primary and the loser of the general election?

Is Ron Hood the Ohio 18 spoiler?

Some keep wondering, what is the campaign plan of Ron Hood?

Ron is a former Ohio State Rep. who lives near Ashville. Some say he lives there, others think he just owns a house there, but I digress.

Ron Hood won the primary for the 91st House district, in somewhat similar circumstances. (http://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=84137 ) In 2004, with four candidates in the race, the new to the district, completely unknown candidate was able to get the votes necessary to win the election with 35% of the vote. In the race for Ohio 18, out of the 8 candidates, one who gets 30% could end up winning it all. You have Jeanette Moll, some see her as the tea-party candidate and known crazy person. You Have Fred Dailey, the 2008 candidate who lost his own precinct. You have Bob Gibbs, the ORP candidate and current State Senator. There are 4 other candidates, a few that I could have mistaken as the same person.

So Ron Hood's plan? Use his connection to raise the perfect amount of money to turn out the right voters, that can help him win. Ron Hood run races based totally on name recognition. You will see his signs out soon that simply say, "Republican Ron Hood". Not his website, not what office. His name, and that he is a Republican.

If he is able to run the kind of race that he has run in similar circumstances, there could be a surprise on the 4th.

Dave Yost endorsed by the Akron Beacon Journal

More and more people, organizations and newspapers are coming out on the side of the winning candidate Dave Yost. The latest comes from the Akron Beacon Journal (or the Akron Beacon Urinal, as Matt Naugle would say :) ... here is the release;

The Dave Yost for Auditor campaign continues to drive toward victory, receiving the endorsement of the Akron Beacon Journal this morning. In their endorsement for Dave Yost, the Akron Beacon Journal said:

“Yost, the Delaware County auditor from 1999 to 2003 before moving to the prosecutor's office, is a seasoned public administrator. Morgan, like Taylor, is a certified public accountant.

That said, his resume is limited, in the public and private sectors. As it is, state auditors don't themselves audit. What matters are leadership and administrative skills. Yost has spent more than a decade effectively running county-level offices in one of the state's fastest-growing counties. More, his legal work in the public sector is especially valuable, bringing him in contact with many units of government, exactly the entities the auditor's office examines.”

“Over and over again, people across Ohio are realizing that the Ohio Auditor of State is not only about debits and credits, it’s about crooks and cheats.

Dave Yost is a proven leader, with the financial and prosecution experience to make sure Ohio tax payer dollars are being spent according to law,” campaign manager Brent Swander said.

Yost has been endorsed by the Ohio Republican Party to replace Mary Taylor as Auditor of State. He is currently serving his third term as Delaware County Prosecutor, after serving one term as Delaware County Auditor.

In addition, Yost has been endorsed by Ohio Right to Life, the Buckeye Firearms Association, Ohio Black Republicans Association, 98% of Ohio’s Republican County Auditors, three-fourths of Ohio’s Republican Senators, over 70% of Ohio’s Republican County Prosecutors, the Belmont, Delaware, Muskingum, Preble and Putnam County Republican Parties, Ken Blackwell, the Youngstown Vindicator and now the Akron Beacon Journal.

I think that these newspapers from Northeast Ohio are going to be the deciding factor in this race. While Matt over at RightOhio blog does not give the Ohio MSM much credit after most newspaper ended up endorsing Jim Petro in the GOP primary. This race is so much different that race. That race pitted two candidates who had universal name recognition in Ohio, in this race they both are unknown.

The newspapers in the most populist region of the state will help raise name ID in a race where that is all that really matters.

I do not trust the MSM much, but for the average Joe, it could make or break their vote.

Ohio Governor Ted Strickland recently said that "[we would] cross that bridge when we come to it” when questioned about how to manage Ohio's massive budget shortfall.

If he wont answer that, how about this. Where are all the jobs going?

When you see numbers tossed around like 229,000 Ohio jobs lost in the past twelve months, it doesn't really hit you. It's almost too big a number to really comprehend. What does hit you are the job losses in your town - the people losing work in your county.

Recently, in my home town of Circleville, a major chemical company decided to cut 130jobs at their plant so that they can relocate to a new plant in another state.

What does that say to me? This ‘other’ state offers better incentives to encourage businesses to come there.

This is the same thing that has been happening across the entire state of Ohio over the past year. Futures are being lost and suffering is on the rise across the state. Not only are people losing their jobs, but communities are losing their pride. As jobs leave, the schools slip, and as the schools slip, our future slips.

While Ted Strickland refuses to answer questions about the budget shortfall, maybe he can answer questions about this - what is being done to make Ohio more competitive? What are you doing to bring work back to Ohio?

It really hits home as you have to look around your own town and see houses being foreclosed and your neighbors moving away from their friends and family in an attempt to find a job.

That huge 229,000 number never hit me. That 130 lost in Circleville did. It is time Ted Strickland answers the hard questions, and I think blaming Taft is getting a tad old.
